Become a key player as a Managing Director:
We are currently seeking a seasoned professional to join as the Managing Director of the Tax Practice. This role encompasses both direct and indirect taxes, as well as tax consulting. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in public accounting tax, specifically with a focus on corporate taxes and startup environments. This leadership position requires a unique blend of technical expertise, entrepreneurial spirit, and strategic thinking.

Here’s how you’ll make an impact on the team:
  • Oversee and manage a diverse book of business, focusing on corporate and startup clients from seed through C stage.
  • Maintain strong client relations and cross-sell services within the assigned client group.
  • Keep active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, meet deadlines, and effectively lead change efforts.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing tax consulting team.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance their technical skills and promote a culture of continuous learning.
  • Act as the internal advisor on technical tax matters, serving as a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Work with leadership to make strategic decisions that align with the business goals and vision.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to expand and improve the tax consulting practice.
  • Embrace an entrepreneurial mindset, demonstrating the ability to take calculated risks and make swift decisions.
  • Manage stressful situations with resilience and efficiency.
  • Stay informed about changes in tax regulations, industry trends, and best practices.

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this role:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in public accounting tax, with a preference for those from a regional firm specializing in corporate and VC-funded startup environments
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with CPA or JD required
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, as well as direct and indirect tax compliance and consulting
  • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication skills to provide clear and practical advice to clients and team members
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic decision-making processes
  • Ability to navigate uncertainties, take calculated risks, and find creative solutions
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing situations and find effective solutions

Pay Range:
$250,000 - $300,000/annually
